Ah, Boatingirl. Yes, please join us. It
is a little like Alice, I agree. You'll have to run as
fast as you can to stay in the same place, I'm afraid.
It's the price we pay for being in a looking-glass
Neighborhood.
You're absolutely right, of course! So
now that I'm here (or there) professor, where would be a
good place to start my observation? and what should I be
looking for--any clues?
oh! I just
remembered! I was a geology major in college! I'll start
by attempting to identify the structure of the
cavern!

Geology! You're just the sort of person
we need, Boatingirl. I don't recall anyone researching
this aspect before. Perhaps you can come up with the
theory of how this vast cavern was formed. I'm afraid
we're a bit upside down at the moment, but we'll try and
get a geology lab set up for you.
*Old dawg had been exploring in the
supply store. He was hot on the trail of a bag of Beggin
Strips when he heard the squirrel say something about
calling security. He turned and ran back to his office.
He looked dashing in his security uniform.*
Urudawg, did you want
to link to a specific post in this thread rather than to
the beginning? It's rather amusing at present with the
thread the way it is. You can right-click on the
pinned post-it note in any post, select Copy Shortcut,
and link to that, eg The Institution.
Now our three explorers went
downstairs... "Ok, good," said Dr. Warrell. "I
have one in my backpack, but Grassie has good night
vision," said Speedy as she pulled out one. "Don't
you need a flashlight? Hang on," asked Dr.
Warrell. "Ok, now that we're back, let's go
downstairs!" Grassie said as he began to go down the
stairs. "Hopefully, that will work," Dr. Warrell
muttered as he returned back to the house and to where
Speedy and Grassie were. The area rose back up. After
trying to figure out on how to reverse it for about five
minutes, he just pressed it again. Sure enough, when Dr.
Warrell returned to the fountain, he found an abnormal
depression in the bottom of the fountain. "It's in
the basement... I'll wait until Dr. Warrell returns,"
said Grassie. "So where is this thing you want to
show us? My thoughts exactly," Speedy said. "More
than likely not," replied Grassie. "So, do you think
he'll have any sanity left at the end of this thing?"
she asked. Speedy turned to Grassie when Dr. Warrell
left. "Oh... well, I'll go back and check the
fountain..." Dr. Warrell said as he turned around and
headed back outside. "Besides, many of the
experiences you'll see and do down here are normally
impossible back in the real world. But down here it is!"
Grassie said. "Yes, we know it isn't scientifically
possible..." Speedy quoted. "Oh great... but..." Dr.
Warrell started. "Apprently, when you fell into the
fountain, you hit something that is currently causing
everything to run backwards, including our movements!"
Speedy said. "Huh?" asked Dr. Warrell. "Well, that
explains it!" Grassie commented. It felt like he was
getting a bruise. "No, not that I recall, but I did feel
something move when I was pushed into the fountain..."
Dr. Warrell commented as he rubbed his back. "Yeah,
and also, did you touch anything or pull any levers when
you were down at the fountain?" asked
Grassie. "Didn't you see how things can defy gravity
down here, Dr. Warrell? On the surface, yes, but down
here, anything can happen," explained Speedy. "But
that is scientifically impossible," Dr. Warrell
said. "Actually, now that you mensioned it,... things
seem to be moving backwards!" Grassie said. "Has
anyone else noticed anything going on with our movements
and comments?" asked Speedy. "What is wrong? What?"
asked Grassie. "Wait a minute," Speedy said as she
stopped taking photos. "You haven't seen the best
part," Grassie said. "But this is just all dust, not
volcanic ash," Dr. Warrell said. "Wow, this reminds
me of Pompeii..." Speedy commented as she was taking
photos all over the place. Not only the foodware was
still out, but doors were left open, clothes left on the
bed, and even some of the beds weren't made! As Grassie
had explained it before, everything was still in its
place after the fall of D'ni. Inside was quite a sight.
Speedy, Grassie, and Dr. Warrell (minus RW) entered the
ancient mansion.
Anywho, back in the northern
sector...

wants to get back to exploring the supply store. He
looks at the clock and sees it is time for his rounds.
Beggin Strips will have to wait.*
